Just a week after the November update was concluded, Google announced the launch of a new update for its search engine in December.
According to Google, this update affects another “core system” related to the search engine. Sometimes, these updates need to be released separately.
This isn’t unusual; last year, several updates were released in quick succession between August and November.
What Happened in Tourism During November?
From our perspective, on the tourism sites we manage, we haven’t noticed significant differences in the traffic generated by search engines. However, we did observe recoveries in Google Discover after a complete blackout.
For example, Travel and Leisure seems to have experienced a decline with the November update:
Touropia, a site penalized in previous updates for not offering quality content (an evident problem since the site covers all destinations worldwide, which doesn’t allow it to demonstrate real authority in the areas it covers), continues to see a drop in its traffic, which seems to have worsened in November:
We’ll see how this new update affects websites.
